Pondicherry Park
A stone’s throw from Bridgton’s Community Center, more than 55 acres of woods, wetlands and a mile of stream remain virtually untouched. It is as if a section of downtown Bridgton was forgotten by time. Now, through a partnership of groups and individuals, townspeople and visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy this remarkable property forever.
Loon Echo Land Trust and the Lakes Environmental Association are teaming up with foundations, civic groups and the Town to raise the $575,000 needed to purchase the property and to construct an access bridge and trail systems to link the land with the Stevens Brook Trail and downtown Bridgton. The goal is to create a public open space park where hiking, fishing, skiing, kayaking and nature study are accessible from the center of town. Your support is needed!

Pictured above is an artist’s concept of the entrance to Pondicherry Park between the new Down East building and the community center garage. The new parking lot off Depot Street is behind Reny’s, between the new Magic Lantern Theater and the Community Center.
